The UK’s largest garden-based science project was back again this year from 29th-31st January, marking the 42nd RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch. This experiment sees nature and bird enthusiasts across the UK join the largest birdwatch through participant’s volunteering one hour of their time, tracking birds in their gardens. This project gives a real insight into our wildlife and how our birds are faring across the UK.
We also took part this year at Winnersh Triangle as we were very keen to see how the different bird species are at the park. Our birdwatchers found that the birds were unsurprisingly mainly spotted close to the Meadows, Dinton Pastures & lakes.

Carrion crow x2
Back headed gull x2
Mute Swan x2
Jay x1
As part of our ongoing sustainability commitment and biodiversity plans we are installing new bird boxes to increase the wildlife on the park. Hopefully next year we will see these numbers rise. Thank you to MAPP & Nurture for being part of this project.
