PATRIZIA UK, the manager of Winnersh Triangle, announces that the mixed use park’s new 60,000 sq ft office development is on track for its scheduled completion date in Spring 2016, having now reached the final stages of construction.

Work began on the speculative development of 1030 Eskdale Road in October 2014 by contractor, Wates Construction, which has now started fitting the internal mechanical and electrical installations of the four-storey scheme, which includes secure parking and cycle bays beneath an extensive podium structure.

Located at the western end of the 85-acre Winnersh Triangle business park, 1030 Eskdale Road marks a significant investment by business park owners PATRIZIA and Oaktree Capital Management and adds to the existing range of commercial, industrial and R&D facilities.

Will Lawrie, PATRIZIA UK Ltd asset manager, said: “The development of 1030 Eskdale Road represents an exciting new phase in the evolution of Winnersh Triangle and underscores our commitment to the park.  The building already looks extremely impressive and when finished, in only a few months’ time, it will provide an environment of the highest quality that is well connected, with access to superb facilities.”

Winnersh Triangle has more than 1.4 million square feet of built stock with more than 60 diverse companies employing 4,000 people on site. Major names include Jacobs (UK) Ltd, Virgin Media, BMC, Microchip, Grant Thornton, Lloyds Bank, WH Smith, Atos and CenturyLink.

Throughout construction, Wates has utilised the project to create opportunities for local training and employment. This has included its nationwide Building Futures programme, through which Reading jobseekers undergo construction skills training to improve their employment prospects.

Peter Whitmore, Business Unit Director for Wates Construction Southern Home Counties & South West, commented: “1030 Eskdale Road at Winnersh Triangle is an important development for Reading and one that reflects the increased investment, economic growth and crucially, the employment boost, in the city.

”As a contractor committed to investing in skills, we have been keen to create opportunities for local training and employment throughout the project and we look to build on this commitment as we accelerate construction in the run-up to completion next spring.”
